Journey Through The Peaks: The Return

Not even Twin Peaks is immune to sequels. My 2018 trip to the towns of Snoqualmie, North Bend, Fall City, and Poulsboro in Washington State was a magical one, befitting the cosmic weirditude of David Lynch & Mark Frost’s creation. In February 2024, the stars turned and a time presented itself for my return, now with “Audrey” by my side. This trip was even more delightful than my initial pilgrimage. Twede’s Cafe now sports the iconic Double R neon permanently; Rose and I were hit by a wave of misty-eyed emotion at the sight of it.

We took pains to replicate some shots from the Pilot episode, shot on-location in these very places, as well as a charming moment between Gordon Cole (played by Lynch himself) and waitress Shelly Johnson (Mädchen Amick) from Season 2. “All in all, a very interesting experience.”
